Golda

Golda (portrayed by Lilyan Chauvin) was the mother of Maggie Holvey and grandmother of Charley and his infant brother Teddy.

Biography

She was the only one in the family who noticed that Charlie got possessed by the vengeful spirit of his stillborn twin brother Michael or a demon assuming his identity. Her desperate attempts to protect the little boy were harshly cast aside as an old woman's foolish superstition by Maggie and her husband Steve.

Althought Golda tried her best by using protective magic symbols and potions Michael caused several deaths in the Holvey family like his brother Teddy and his father. When Golda inviteted the Căluşari, a group of elderly mystics from her old homeland, to perform an exorcism ritual on Charlie, she got interrupted by Maggie who still refused to believe in the supernatural that was going on in spite of the Head Căluşari's avertments of the importance of their doings.

Later Golda tried to complete the ceremony on her own but underestimated the powers of the evil entity. Once more Michael took over Charlie's body and himself performed dark spells of ancient evil. With his black magic he brought two dead chicken whose blood was needed for a potion back to live and caused them to peck out Golda's eyes before she died of fright. (TXF: "The Căluşari")
