Charlie Holvey

Charlie Holvey (portrayed by Joel Palmer) is the son of Steve andMaggie Holvey as well as the older brother of Teddy Holvey.
Biography
In 1995, Charlie was possessed by the evil spirit of his stillborn twin brother, Michael, or a demon impersonating him. This caused numerous deaths in the Holvey family: first, his younger brother, Teddy, whom he telekinetically lured to his death on a miniature train while the family was in Lincoln Park. Following Teddy's death, Charlie's grandmother, Golda, tried various methods to free Charlie from Michael's influence. After painting symbols on Charlie's hand in an attempt to lessen Michael's hold, which failed, she called upon the Căluşari to exorcise Charlie. Meanwhile, FBISpecial AgentsFox Mulder and Dana Scully investigated Teddy's death and came to suspect Golda of being involved in the abuse of Charlie and Teddy. Shortly afterward, Michael killed Steve while he was trying to unlock his garage door. Later, Maggie stopped a ceremony intended to exorcise Charlie and threw the Căluşari out in front of Social Worker Karen Kosseff. When Maggie refused to believe in Michael's spirit, Golda took Charlie and locked herself inside, intending to exorcise him. Michael killed Golda by resurrecting two roosters she had previously slaughtered for the ceremony. Later, while Karen was talking with Charlie, he revealed that "it was Michael who did it." Michael's spirit, or the demon impersonating him, then physically manifested and knocked NurseCastor unconscious before leaving with Maggie for the family home. Mulder, who had stayed at the hospital while Scully went to the Holveys' house, called on the Căluşari to complete Charlie's exorcism. The exorcism was extremely complicated due to the demon's resistance within Charlie's body, but with Mulder's help, the Căluşari exorcised the child, causing Michael to disappear from the physical world as he attempted to kill Scully.
