Jake Waterston
来自 X-Files Wiki
Jake Waterston (portrayed by John Pyper-Ferguson) is a serial killer responsible for the murders of three nurses in 1992.
Biography
Born in 1966 in Fulton, Missouri, Waterston worked as a textile factory worker near the docks in Newport News, Virginia. At the time, he lived at 898 Garden Place. In December 1992, he murdered three nurses by strangling them with a ten-pound test line and mutilating their bodies before dumping them in the James River. After a warrant was issued for his arrest, he fled to Joplin, Missouri, where he adopted the name Jim Gilroy. He began a relationship with Killean Marie Haskell but repeatedly assaulted Killean's daughter, Maddie, who had a child with him in 1995. He then sold the child, Angel, to buy a new television. The following year, in 1996, when Maddie told her mother what Waterston had done to her, she either committed suicide or confronted Waterston, who killed her and made it look like suicide. After Killean's funeral, Waterston again tried to attack Maddie but was knocked unconscious and locked in a trunk by Maddie's boyfriend, Bobby Webber, who was searching with Maddie for the child Waterston had sold. Waterston lied, claiming he had sold the child to the Nesmiths, which led to the couple's death at Webber's hands. Threatened by Webber, Waterston eventually confessed that he had sold the child to the Travis family in Little Rock, Arkansas, through a corrupt lawyer. Maddie and Webber then sank the car in a pond to kill Waterston, but he survived thanks to an air pocket in the trunk. He was discovered by police and taken to prison. From there, Frank Black interrogated him, revealing that he knew his true identity, to force him to confess what Maddie and Webber wanted, but he wouldn't budge. He was presumably imprisoned for his crimes afterward. (MM: "The Wild and the Innocent")
Trivia
- It's unclear whether Waterston himself killed Killean or if she actually committed suicide. Several clues (including Black's visions) suggest that he murdered Killean and made it look like a suicide. When Black confronts Waterston in prison and he still maintains that Killean committed suicide, Black replies that he did nothing to stop it and simply watched.
